Peavy went 10-11 with a 2.85 ERA across 27 starts with the San Diego Padres. In 173.2 innings he allowed 146 hits, 59 walks and struck out 186. He allowed 17 homers and induced 12 double play grounders while holding the opposition to a .229 average.

2007

Peavy was a unanimous selection for the 2007 National League Cy Young Award, becoming the fourth San Diego hurler in franchise history to garner the honor. He paced the senior circuit with 19 wins, a 2.54 ERA (63 ER/223.1 IP) and 240 strikeouts, joining Randy Johnson (2002) as the only pitchers in the last 22 years to lead the National League in wins, ERA and strikeouts in the same season. Peavy’s ERA and strikeout total also led all Major League pitchers in 2007, while he finished second in the Majors with a .208 opponent batting average behind teammate Chris Young (.192). Additionally, the right-hander established career highs in wins, starts (34), innings pitched and strikeouts, while his six losses tied a career low.

Peavy earned three National League Pitcher of the Month honors during the 2007 campaign, receiving the distinction in May, August and September. A two-time National League All-Star (2005, 2007), Peavy was named the National League’s starting pitcher at the 2007 Midsummer Classic in San Francisco. His 240 strikeouts in 2007 rank second on the Padres all-time single-season list (Kevin Brown, 257 in 1998) and he tallied a Major League-best nine games with at least 10 strikeouts. Peavy tied his own club record with 16 strikeouts on April 25 at Arizona, fanning nine consecutive batters in that game to set a Padres record and fall one short of Tom Seaver’s Major League mark (April 22, 1970 vs. San Diego).

2006:

With an 11-14 record in 2006, Peavy now has four consecutive 10-win seasons for the Padres. Led the team in innings, strikeouts (215) and complete games (two). His 215 strikeouts were also the second highest in the National League (Aaron Harang, 216). On May 22 vs. Atlanta, he struck out a franchise-record 16 batters, tying the highest strikeout total for an outing in the Majors in 2006 (Jason Schmidt). He tallied five games with at least 10 strikeouts in 2006, giving him 15 in his career, which ties him for the franchise record with Andy Benes (1989-1995). On July 26 at the Dodgers, he went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double and four RBIs.

2005

Led the Padres with 13 wins and posted a 2.88 ERA (65 ER/203 IP) over 30 starts...his 203.0 innings and 216 strikeouts also paced the Padres...in his first 10 starts went 5-0 with a 2.00 ERA (16 ER/72.0 IP).

2004:

Peavy went 15-6 in 2004 and won the ERA Championship with the Padres. Jake Peavy won the National League ERA title with a 2.27 mark and posted a 15-6 record. He is the Padres' top starter although he won't be designated as such to protect the 23-year-old from too much pressure. Impressed everyone on postseason all-star tour to Japan. 2003:

Jake Peavy went 12-11 in 2003, the only Padres starter to have a winning record. His ERA was 4.11 and he had 156 K's and 85 BB's in 194.2 IP. His WHIP was 1.31.
