| A 16-year major league veteran, Jim Edmonds signed with the Cubs on May 14, 2008. He previously appeared in 26 games for San Diego, batting .178 before being released by the Padres. The left-handed batting Edmonds spent eight seasons with St. Louis from 2000-07, garnering three All-Star selections and one Silver Slugger Award. |
